īut I thought to myself, since I have 64GB of RAM and 12-cores (and am quite happy about the performance of this MacPro, 2013), maybe I'll have a different outcome.Īlas, I experienced the same very slow performance others talked about in reviews. Had read a number of reviews comparing Parallels to BootCamp (and other approaches) and the bottom line seemed to be "the performance is so slow you are better off to buy a cheap Windows PC.". I then installed all the prerequisites for the RIGOL software, including NI-VISA for Windows and the drivers, etc. The basic Parallels installation went fine and so I also installed Windows 10. The reason for this install was to test some RIGOL test gear software which only runs on Windows. I just installed (and removed) Parallels Desktop 15 Edition on my MacPro (2013) with 64GB memory and 12-cores, which is running the latest version of macOS Catalina as of this post.
